When we carryout an examination on you under the pilot contract, we will call it an Oral Health Assessment, and during this assessment we will examine your mouth as well as considering other risks such as smoking, drinking (both fizzy/sugury drinks and alcohol) and your diet, all of which may affect any problems you may develop in the future. We then use a traffic light scoring system for four areas of your oral health. The four areas that we score are tooth decay, gum disease, tooth wear and soft tissues. Hopefully this will help you better understand any potential problems you may have with your teeth and mouth and will help us to work together to improve the level of your oral health.
Our NHS prices will remain the same, these are:
Band 1: £18 - includes assessment, diagnosis and advice. If necessary, it also includes xrays, scaling and planning for further treatment.
Band 1A: £18 - Interim Care appointments that involve some sort of 'hands-on' treatment with your dentist or other dental team specialist inbetween Oral Health Assessments. An Interim Care appointment where only advice is given will be free of charge.
Band 2: £49 - includes all treatment covered by Band 1, plus additional treatment, such as fillings, root canal treatment and tooth removal.
Band 3: £214 - includes all treatment covered by Bands 1 and 2, plus more complex procedures, such as crowns, dentures and bridges.
